On phones
Anyone with a login can use Lantern Home on their phone. It’s the same app as on a computer, laid out for a small screen, with the sections in a menu at the top.
Add it to the Home Screen
Section titled “Add it to the Home Screen”- iPhone and iPad: open Lantern in Safari, choose Share, then Add to Home Screen.
- Android: open Lantern in Chrome, open the menu, then Install app or Add to Home screen.
It then opens full screen from its own icon, like an app.
Offline
Section titled “Offline”Lantern keeps what you’ve opened lately on the phone, along with the lists, this week’s and next week’s meals, and today’s chores. With no connection, it shows the last of them, and saves what you check off or add, sending it once the phone is back online. A badge at the top says when it’s offline, and when changes are waiting.
Notifications
Section titled “Notifications”To get reminders for events and chores, and, for adults, reward requests, open More → Notifications on the phone and turn them on. On an iPhone or iPad, Lantern has to be on the Home Screen first. Getting Lantern’s notifications on a phone or computer has the details.
Your own settings
Section titled “Your own settings”More is where each person keeps their own things: Appearance for this device’s theme, Your buddy, Notifications, and Password.
A native app for Android is on its way.
