Lantern Home
The self-hosted family hub
The calendar, chores, lists, meals, and photos the whole household shares: on a wall display in the kitchen, on a desktop, and on everyone's phones. It's free, and it runs on your own server, so your family's week stays yours.
- CalendarEveryone's week in their own colour, with Google, Apple, and Proton calendars, holidays, birthdays, countdowns, and the weather.
- Chores and rewardsRotations, routines a child can follow, habits with streaks, and stars to save for rewards.
- Lists and to-dosA grocery list sorted the way your store is walked, and to-dos with days and people.
- Meals and recipesThe week's plan, a recipe box with import from links, cook mode, and the week's shopping in one go.
- PhotosAlbums from Immich on the dashboard and in the display's screensaver.
- The wall displayAny screen, paired from the app: a mini PC, a Raspberry Pi, or a tablet.
- PhonesIn any phone's browser and on the Home Screen, with reminders and offline use.

Private by design
- Everything in your household's own database, on a computer you run.
- No telemetry, and no account with anyone.
- Calls only the services an admin turns on.
Works alongside

- Mealie and Tandoor, whose recipe boxes it imports.
- Immich, whose albums it shows.
What it needs
- A computer that's always on and runs Docker, on amd64: a home server, a NAS, or a small PC.
- HTTPS in front of it, which the docs walk through.
- Any screens you'd like on the wall.
Get it

- Install it from lanternhome.org/docs/install.
- Its source is on its way, under the AGPL-3.0.
